Building “Green”

Close Construction is a participating member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).  USGBC is a non-profit organization working to advance construction that is environmentally responsible, profitable and provides a healthy place to live and work.

For our customers, this means structures which are energy-efficient, more economically maintained and a sustainable future. Our key leadership team has studied the LEED ® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating system for all types of structures and is prepared to show our customers how building green can save them money over time.**

According to the USGBC, some advantages of building "green" are:

8 to 9% decrease in operating costs;
7.5% increase in building values;
6.6% improvement in return on investment;
3.5% increase in occupancy;
3% rental rate increase.

**Some "Green" Building Principles

1.  Sustainable sites
2.  Harvest rain water and reduce use of potable water
3.  Planned energy efficiency
4.  Materials
     a.  Reuse existing materials
     b.  Use rapidly renewable materials
     c.  Use materials that are available locally
5.  Indoor Environment Quality (increased availability of outside air and ventilation)
